Hercules and Falcons lift Emerging Cup-2019

Tournament’s 30-over format a prelude to Ajman Cricket Council’s plans to organize an event for budding youngsters.
Ajman: A tournament meant to spot talented youngsters on the UAE cricket scene concluded with the Ajman Hercules in Senior and Falcons in Junior crowning themselves champions in the Ajman Emerging Cup after Hercules defeating Ajman Neptunes by 4 wickets in senior and Junior Falcons by 2 runs in the final.
The tournament held on the Ajman Cricket Council’s initiative with two renowned coaches Shahzad Altaf and Indika Batu backing it up. The event featured the best talent in the country from the age of 12 to 19, who were drawn into six teams. At a time when the majority of the tournaments are being held in the Twenty20 format, these two coaches decided to stage a 30-over event.
Hercules won 4 wickets out of their three matches to showcase their complete supremacy.
In the final, Ajman Neptune 192 for 8 in 30 overs Captain Ansh Tandon 93 in 62 balls , Tanish Suri 28 in 43 balls and Sanchit Sharma 24 in 26 balls, Aayam Verma 2 for 27 , Ajman Hercules 195 for 6 in 29.1 overs Aayam Verma 71 in 76 balls and Mohammad Faraazuddin 89 in 70 balls Sanchit Sharma 1 for 33 Abdullah Hashim 1 for 29 Player of the Match Aayam Verma of Hercules.

“This tournament is the start of many more to come under Ajman Council. The very fact we hosted a 30-over tournament is to give quality cricket to youngsters. In the next edition in the first week of July, we will provide 40 overs matches for each team. We want to take the young cricketers’ focus away from T20 format and help them learn to stay at the wicket. This event is also a prelude to the Ajman Council’s, Ajman Council’s Shaji Ul Mulk and coach Shahzad Altaf is providing huge support ensure as many platforms as possible for the youngsters. This will enable them to play at a higher level.”
