Karan Ashok’s All Round Performance Seals The Deal For Royal Cricket Club.
Zohra: It turned out to be a yet thriller of a final with Royal CC and Armaf Sterling exhibiting a great game of cricket and it can be called ‘THE FINAL’.
Armaf Sterling winning the toss on a cold and breezy morning and electing to bat first were set on the back foot right from the start. Thanks to Karan Ashok and his awesome swing bowling on display. He not only bowled an economical spell but also bagging 3 crucial top-order wickets to stem the flow of runs in the start of the innings.
But Armaf came back well through a crucial inning from Monish Soni (58) & Zohaib Ahmed(32). Let’s not forget some lusty blows towards the end from Anoop GS(22) and Irshad Iqbal(23) guiding Armaf to a defendable total of 191 in their allotted 20 overs to set a target of 192 for RCC to win the Championship.
The chase began at the best possible way for RCC with the top 3 batsmen Mohammed Adeel(49), Ajmal Sha(32) and Karan Ashok(48) doing the bulk of the scoring. But it was Yusuf Sheriff (23*) who provided a master class innings to ensure RCC were crowned champions.
